to Task 2
part 1: Definition of eLearning:
Definition 1:
E-learning (electronic learning): Term covering a wide set of applications and processes, such as Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual classrooms, and digital collaboration. It includes the delivery of content via Internet, intranet/extranet (LAN/WAN), audio- and videotape, satellite broadcast, interactive TV, CD-ROM, and more.

Definition 2:
Education via the Internet, network, or standalone computer. e-learning is essentially the network-enabled transfer of skills and knowledge. e-learning refers to using electronic applications and processes to learn. e-learning applications and processes include Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual classrooms and digital collaboration. Content is delivered via the Internet, intranet/extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV, and CD-ROM.*
e-learning was first called “Internet-Based training” then “Web-Based Training” Today you will still find these terms being used, along with variations of e-learning such as elearning, Elearning, and eLearning.

So I found these two Definitions to eLearning, I think they do fit quite well with the facts I have when thinking of eLearning, but I also think there is something missing.
Especially the first one mainly thinks of eLearning to be a delivery of content via CD, Internet and the PC, thats why I choosed the second one to put in here too, because the second one also meantures a tranfere of skills that is connected with eLearning.
Part 2:
I think eLearning is allways useful if you have a long distance to overcome. An other advantage of eLearning is the using of the internet, you can find a lot of informations in a much shorter time than poring over books. What I am missing in eLearning compared to presence learning is the communication between two or more people, sure you can also communicate with a headset and even write messages over a chat room, but it’s not that efficient like when you have your opponent at the same table especially if we think of nature science.
Part 3:
eLearning could be a good solution if you have a long distance to overcome (see part 2).
eLearning could also be very efficient if there is a very difficult task/question to solve and you need some help, from someone, but no one of your friends is able to, then eLearning could be helpful, because it offers the possibility to get in contact with more people.
